PRESENTATION DATA BANK OF IMAGES

This data bank contains images that can be used as sources for economic history or as study and research aids on the history of economics and society, with particular regard to the preindustrial era. A group of images entered in the data bank is the fruit of a research carried out by the Institute in the World Wide Web, with particular attention to the internet websites of libraries and museums. The service links to the web page where the images are visible and indicates the URL of the web site where they have been found, and also the address of the rights holder Insitution (included the e-mail, if available).
Thanks to our collaboration with a number of important italian libraries, we are in the process of acquiring and cataloguing images in manuscripts and printed volumes produced between the 14th and the 15th century.
Each of these images, visible in low definition through the data bank, is annotated with all the information on the procedures and conditions for obtaining a copy in high-definition as well as for its possible use. A special form can be used to locate the images in which you are interested, according to the economic and social aspects they depict.
It is also possible to consult the complete list of the images contained in the individual volumes on which the operations of acquisition and cataloguing have been carried out. For each of these, the service makes available a bibliographical record, produced by the library by which it is held.
