Il 22 febbraio 2021 ci ha lasciato Giovanni Cherubini. Allievo di Ernesto Sestan, professore emerito dell'Università di Firenze, dove ha insegnato storia medievale, è stato uno dei più importanti storici italiani e tra i massimi studiosi internazionali di storia medievale.
Con i suoi studi sull'Italia medievale ha rivoluzionato la storiografia, producendo una notevole mole di saggi che spaziano dalla storia rurale a quella della società basso-medievale, dalla storia economica al pellegrinaggio.
Membro del Comitato scientifico dell'Istituto Datini dal 1993 al 2008, dal 2009 era parte del Comitato d'onore. In qualità di relatore, ha partecipato alla XII Settimana di Studi del 1980, alla XX del 1988, alla XXVI del 1994, alla XVII del 1995.

Giovanni Cherubini passed away on February 22, 2021. A pupil of Ernesto Sestan, professor emeritus of the University of Florence, where he taught medieval history, he was one of the most important Italian historians and one of the leading international scholars of medieval history.
With his studies on medieval Italy he revolutionized historiography, producing a considerable amount of essays ranging from rural history to that of low-medieval society, from economic history to pilgrimage.
Member of the Scientific Committee of the Datini Institute from 1993 to 2008, from 2009 he was part of the Honorary Committee. As a speaker, he participated in the XII Study Week of 1980, the XX of 1988, the XXVI of 1994, the XVII of 1995.

Giovanni Cherubini est décédé le 22 février 2021. Elève d'Ernesto Sestan, professeur émérite de l'Université de Florence, où il a enseigné l'histoire médiévale, il était l'un des historiens italiens les plus importants et l'un des plus grands spécialistes internationaux de l'histoire médiévale.
Avec ses études sur l'Italie médiévale, il a révolutionné l'historiographie, produisant un nombre considérable d'essais allant de l'histoire rurale à celle de la société basse-médiévale, de l'histoire économique au pèlerinage.
Membre du comité scientifique de l'Institut Datini de 1993 à 2008, à partir de 2009 il a fait partie du comité d'honneur. En tant que conférencier, il a participé à la XIIe Semaine d'études de 1980, le XX de 1988, le XXVI de 1994, le XVII de 1995.
