The book is the result of detailed research by scholars who have been engaged for some time in the various topics covered. It represents updated clarifications of the figure of Francesco di Marco Datini as a man and as a merchant. The book reconstructs fundamental aspects of the economy of the time through the internal records of his business system and analysis of the historical debate of recent decades. It proposes a new interpretation of the mentality and instruments of Tuscan merchants in the years at the turn of the 15th century; and it provides new details and points for reflection on the life of Francesco Datini, his family relationships, his concept of wealth and the building of the palace.
It has approximately 700 pages, and contains around 100 datasheets enriched with archive documents. It features an analytical index and extensive artwork, with more than 190 colour images.
The book is published in two separate editions: Italian and English.

    Cover price: € 65
